2011 Projections for Georgia:

25% - 30% of homeowners may face foreclosure.

Breaking News: June 2011 - Recently reported in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, more than  a third of homeowners in metro Atlanta and more than a quarter in Georgia were underwater in their mortgages during the third quarter of 2010. According to economic reporting agency, CoreLogic, Atlanta had the third highest number of negative-equity homeowners of all the cities in the entire study.


In Atlanta, 34.7 percent, or 422,832, of all residential properties with a mortgage were in negative equity. Another 7.3 percent, or 88,956, were in near negative equity, CoreLogic reported.
